Xiaomi Mi presents its new TV 2: no 4K but a price halved

Very active on all fronts connected objects, Xiaomi recently formalized its latest Smart TV. It uses the name already known to Mi TV 2, but brings some significant changes, starting with the price.

Xiaomi Mi had already presented its TV 2 there nearly a year, a rotating screen Android 4.3 combined with the MIUI interface. It was then a 49-inch slab with a 4K resolution, powered by a quad SoC Mstar to 1.45 GHz and coupled with 2GB of RAM. Very fine and design, the device was presented to 3999 yuan, or about 600 euros at current exchange rates (excluding taxes).

Today, the Chinese firm recurrence, always with Mi TV 2, but this time charged 1999 yuan, or a little more than 280 euros, still raw conversion. And for half the price of its predecessor, the screen changes to a diagonal of 40 inch Full HD display, a LED display Sharp signed (SCP X-GEN, contrast 5000: 1). The TV is powered by a quad-core SoC Mstar 1.1 GHz GPU Mali 450 MP4 and has 2 GB of DDR3 RAM. The brand is now based on Android 4.4 to serve game and says Xiaomi, will be updated to Android 5.0, although no precise date is associated with the ad. This version of the OS is still dressed MIUI. Also note that the Mi TV 2 will remain thin, at least on its sides, which will reach 14.5 mm.

Mi TV 2 will be part of the many devices that Xiaomi will be available for purchase in passing through import. The display released in effect in China on 31 March, where it will be available via the website mi.com.
