Virgin Mobile today launched a subscription “all inclusive” with a smartphone included with the offer Telib charged EUR 19.99 per month.
The new offer Virgin Mobile announced and online this morning, is enticing because it includes options and an amount of data ever seen at this price. For 19.99 euros a month, the Full MVNO provides access to
10GB 3G + Internet in France
1 GB of Internet in Europe
unlimited calls in France and to landlines in 52 destinations
unlimited SMS and MMS
So much for the communication of the offer Telib. Virgin Mobile, through the voice of its Director General Pascal Rialland evokes a “total freedom” for the subscriber. Telib is indeed no obligation, and includes both the Virgin of services (applications his house including his “cockpit” recently unveiled) and a smartphone. The Virgin team was able to turn up the heat by mentioning a “premium Android device.” No offense to the MVNO, the Acer Liquid Z3, albeit very effective as an entry terminal, does not quite answer this criterion (see our review). Android 4.2.2, the Z3 features a 3.5 inch 320 x 480 pixels and is powered by a dual-core Mediatek MT6572 1 GHz processor and 512 MB RAM small.
The Acer Liquid Z3 or nothing
No offense to those who already foresaw a SIM card with Telib package in their high-end smartphone, the offer will be available with this smartphone whose rent is included in the package. An important point is to take up: the modem use is not authorized by Telib although most hackers will certainly overcome this constraint, but in defiance of the general conditions of sale of Virgin. The unit can be exchanged against a new model every two years, but in case of exchange between time, it will cost 49 euros … or thirty euros less than the price of the new device. Do not forget to check the small lines of the GTC, as always!
Any exclusive agreement was signed with Acer, who launched Telib remains a great deal in terms of image and, in the longer term, a way to sell large volumes of his terminal. Recall that the Taiwanese brand has been particularly discreet among operators, and it usually favors resale channels without commitment for its entry-level devices. This here is a gain visibility for the Z3 which surrounded the many entry level smartphones that swarm on the market, and in particular carried by the wave Wiko, should benefit from significant additional visibility.
“We are very proud to have been selected as part of this offer punch,” said Fabrice Como Portillo, in charge of the mobile division at Acer France. The brand, competing with Korean competitors for the tender, will be based in fact on this formula to return more visibly among operators, and we may well be some surprises on it before Christmas. And a 4G device coupled with a Telib subscription? “You think about it,” says the brand. Virgin Mobile has announced on the sidelines of Telib signed an agreement on the next use of 4G Bouygues Telecom, without specifying a launch date. It is not excluded that Telib 4G version is available to customers of Full MVNO current 2014.
