Video: Withings Go, the activity tracker to the e-ink screen with 8 months of autonomy

After the Activity and Activity Pop, the French manufacturer specializing in all aspects the Internet of Things just introduced Withings GB. A connected bracelet that introduced the first e-ink screen.

It can be used for walking, running, swimming and it also tells the time. The Withings Go is an activity tracker that can be worn like a watch, or be attached with a clip. Its big feature is the integration of e-ink technology. This famous technology that is found on eBooks Kindle type, is an electronic ink that mimics the appearance of a rendering paper – the screen is purely reflective and uses the ambient light in the same way as the conventional paper. Result: 8 months of autonomy conferred by a button cell.

Unfortunately, the interactions are very limited, even if the screen is supposed to “touch” it must be pressed to change the display. On the one hand, it is possible to display the monitoring of its activities according to its objectives (determined in the Android and iOS app), the other time can be displayed as a traditional watch.

The small problem: I find very lightweight design with a toy appearance, and a light rubber-like plastic. Withings announces water resistance, with a possible immersion to 30 meters deep. Price is salted: about 70 euros and several colors are available. Note that at this price, the bracelet the clip are available, so you can change them according to your business.
